چکیده

A Lower bound for the density of a Bose gas in Z in the grand canonical ensemble is calculated for general dimension d, and for l(Z) potential interactions. The rigorous formalism of the measure on continuous time random walks, analogous to the Wiener measure, is briefly explained, along with justification of the Feynman-Kac formula using this. These are then used to bound the density, although with a flawed lemma. Throughout, attempts to further understand the discrete Gaussian are made. M. Interacting Bose Gas in an Optical Lattice

A grand canonical system of hard-core bosons in an optical lattice is considered. The bosons can occupy randomly N equivalent states at each lattice site. The limit N → ∞ is solved exactly in terms of a saddle-point integration, representing a weakly-interacting Bose gas. In the limit N → ∞ there is only a condensate if the fugacity of the Bose gas is larger than 1. Corrections in 1/N increase ...

Bose-Einstein condensation of a Knudsen gas

We reconcile a long-standing controversy regarding the transition temperature of the Bose-Einstein condensation in a dilute interacting Bose gas, by showing that there is a crossover between ideal gas and interacting gas. The former corresponds to a Knudsen (or collisionless) regime, in which the mean-free-path is much larger than the system dimension, while the latter corresponds to the opposi...

3 Phase Transitions of a Bose Gas in an Optical Lattice

A grand-canonical system of interacting bosons is considered to study phase transitions of ultracold atoms in an optical lattice. The phase diagram is discussed in terms of a matrix-like order parameter, representing a symmetric phase (Mott insulator) and a symmetry-broken phase (Bose-Einstein condensate). An exact solution was found by introducing N colors and taking the limit N → ∞.

Critical temperature of interacting Bose gases in periodic potentials.

The superfluid transition of a repulsive Bose gas in the presence of a sinusoidal potential which represents a simple-cubic optical lattice is investigated using quantum Monte Carlo simulations. At the average filling of one particle per well the critical temperature has a nonmonotonic dependence on the interaction strength, with an initial sharp increase and a rapid suppression at strong inter...

Simple theoretical tools for low dimension Bose gases

We first consider an exactly solvable classical field model to understand the coherence properties and the density fluctuations of a one-dimensional (1D) weakly interacting degenerate Bose gas with repulsive interactions at temperatures larger than the chemical potential. In a second part, using a lattice model for the quantum field, we explain how to carefully generalize the usual Bogoliubov a...
